RRB announces 4,098 Junior Engineer vacancies with online applications opening from August 14

RRB JE Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) under the Ministry of Railways have issued the Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 04/2026 for recruitment to Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts. The recruitment drive will fill 4,098 vacancies across different Railway Recruitment Boards in the country.According to the notification, the online application process is scheduled to begin on August 14, 2026, while the last date for submitting applications is September 13, 2026. The board has stated that the current notice is indicative, and the detailed notification containing complete eligibility conditions, examination details and other instructions will be released before the application window opens.Recruitment details and vacanciesThe recruitment is being conducted for technical posts including Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Electrical), Junior Engineer (Works), Junior Engineer (Design), Junior Engineer (Workshops), Chemical Supervisor (Research), Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant and other notified technical posts. The advertised vacancies total 4,098.Selected candidates will be placed in Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay structure with an initial monthly salary of Rs 35,400. Appointments will be made at locations across India.

Eligibility and application scheduleCandidates applying for the notified posts must possess a degree in the relevant field. The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 33 years. Age will be calculated as on January 1, 2027, while relaxation for reserved categories will be provided according to Government of India and RRB rules.The application fee is Rs 500 for General, OBC and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, PwBD and female candidates will pay Rs 250. Payment will be made through the online mode.Selection process and application procedureThe selection process is expected to include Computer Based Test (CBT-I), Computer Based Test (CBT-II), document verification and a medical examination.Candidates will be required to register through the official RRB website using a valid email ID and mobile number, complete the online application form, upload the necessary documents, photograph and signature, pay the prescribed fee where applicable, and submit the form before the closing date. Applicants have also been advised to keep educational certificates, caste and domicile certificates, and other required documents ready before registration begins.
