The technical and madrasah education division under Bangladesh’s Ministry of Education and the German government’s development agency GIZ have signed an agreement in Dhaka to advance the Vocational Training in the Field of Renewable Energy project.
The aim is to address the needs of the emerging labour market in sustainable energy.
The signing marks the immediate transition to field-level implementation.
GIZ signed the agreement on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The TVET4RE initiative falls under the broader framework of German development cooperation, following Germany’s commitment of €21.77 million (~$24.82 million) in January 2026 for sustainable development projects in the country.
The signing marks the immediate transition to field-level implementation, building on the memorandum of understanding signed with the economic relations division on June 11, according to Bangladesh media reports.
The TVET4RE project directly addresses the growing demand for green skills, translating high-level policy into practical, long-term technical capacities that benefit the domestic economy by building the necessary skills for a capable workforce.
