UPSSSC rolls out One-Time Registration system to simplify PET; here's how it works

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has introduced a One-Time Registration (OTR) system to make the application process easier for candidates appearing in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) and other recruitment examinations. The new facility is available free of cost and is aimed at reducing the need to fill in the same details every time candidates apply for a government recruitment exam.Although the OTR system is new for UPSSSC examinations, similar registration systems are already used for several government recruitment exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), State Public Service Commissions (State PSCs), and other state recruitment boards.

What is the UPSSSC OTR system?

Under the new system, candidates need to register and submit their personal details only once. After an OTR number is generated, the same information will automatically be used for future UPSSSC recruitment applications. To complete the registration, candidates will have to verify their mobile number and email address. They will also need to provide details such as their name, parents’ names, date of birth, category, address, and educational qualifications.Applicants must also upload a recent colour photograph, taken within the last six months, along with their signature in the prescribed format.

Details cannot be changed after registration

UPSSSC has advised candidates to fill in all information carefully while registering. Once the OTR number is generated, the details submitted during registration cannot be edited or modified.

PET score to remain valid for three years

The commission has also confirmed that the PET score will remain valid for three years. If a candidate has more than one valid PET score during this period, they will be allowed to use the highest score while applying for future recruitment examinations. The OTR system was first proposed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in 2023. It has now been launched along with the new UPSSSC website to make the recruitment process simpler, more transparent, and more convenient for government job aspirants.
