US, Mexico set fourth USMCA review talks for September 2026

The US and Mexico have directed their teams to convene a fourth bilateral negotiating round in Washington, D.C. in September 2026, following the third bilateral negotiating round related to the Joint Review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), according to the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR).Ambassador Jamieson Greer met Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum in Mexico City during the third round. They reviewed discussions on economic security, labour, agriculture, electronic payment services, steel and aluminium and derivative products, and automobiles.

Ambassador Jamieson Greer and Mexican Secretary of Economy Marcelo Ebrard said in a joint statement that Greer and Sheinbaum agreed on the importance of bilateral cooperation and underlined the urgency of growing North American manufacturing, strengthening regional supply chains, and addressing free-riding from non-parties.
