India polyester, PC yarn gain on stronger raw material costs, demand

A trader from Ludhiana market told Fibre*Fashion, “PC yarn faced limited supplies from spinning mills. Its prices gained by ****;* per kg. Polyester spun and recycled polyester yarn also rose by ****;*–* per kg. Costlier recycled polyester fibre led to higher cost of production. Virgin polyester fibre increased ****;*.** per kg, and its prices are further expected to rise amid geopolitical disturbances.”

Polyester yarn prices in the Surat market also increased by ****;* per kg, supported by rising crude oil prices, which pushed up polyester fibre and yarn costs. Indian producers had raised virgin polyester fibre prices by ****;*.** per kg at the beginning of the current fortnight. Market sources said festival-related demand also supported the polyester yarn market, while demand from downstream industries picked up significantly over the past few days.
