China’s textile & apparel exports edge up to $146 bn in H1 2026

China’s shipments of garments and accessories eased *.* per cent year-on-year to $**.*** billion from $**.*** billion. Meanwhile, exports of textile products, including yarns, fabrics and related articles, rose *.* per cent to $** billion from $**.*** billion, supported by improved downstream manufacturing activity across Asia.

In June **** alone, garment shipments were valued at $**.*** billion, while exports of textile yarns, fabrics and related articles stood at $**.*** billion, taking the combined monthly total to $**.*** billion.

On the import side, China’s imports of textile yarns and fabrics increased **.* per cent year-on-year to $*.*** billion in January–June ****, compared with $*.*** billion in the same period of ****. June imports alone stood at $*,***.* million. The increase points to replenishment of raw materials, including cotton and specialised yarns, as domestic mills raised production in response to improving export demand.

China’s outbound shipments of textiles and apparel declined *.** per cent to $***.** billion in ****. Of this, garments and accessories accounted for $***.** billion, while textile products contributed $***.** billion. Imports of textile yarns and fabrics also fell *.* per cent to $*.** billion in ****, compared with $**.** billion in ****, reflecting weaker domestic demand and cautious procurement.
