Polyester industrial yarn gains on rising input costs
Polyester industrial yarn prices showed a mixed but generally firm trend in early to mid-July ****. FOB China prices slipped from $*.***/kg on July * to $*.***/kg on July **, before rebounding to $*.***/kg by July **, while domestic China prices rose steadily from $*.***/kg to $*.***/kg. The recent increase was mainly driven by higher upstream raw material costs, which directly raised production and replacement costs for industrial yarn producers, despite cautious downstream buying and limited demand growth. High-tenacity polyester industrial yarn is primarily used in tyre cords, automotive components, conveyor belts, geotextiles, construction fabrics, tarpaulins, tents, ropes, and other industrial textiles requiring high strength and durability.
